trees

Forests have a way of stopping me in my tracks regardless of where I am. The moss draped trails of the Pacific Northwest, the ancient live oaks of the Georgia lowcountry, the longleaf pines of a Virginia reserve managed back from the edge of extinction. Different ecosystems, different histories, same instinct to stop and stay a while. This collection is what happens when a perpetual traveler keeps finding herself standing in the middle of the trees, camera in hand, not quite ready to leave. Sometimes I’ll even hug one.
