Tangier Island has these small bridges scattered across it, connecting the neighborhoods over the marsh. You cross one, glance down, and sometimes the marsh gives you something like this. A great egret, completely unbothered, standing at the edge of a tidal creek with its reflection stretched out below it. I didn't plan this shot. I just stopped the golf cart and tried not to breathe too loud. Shot on Tangier Island, Virginia.
