The Aljafería Palace in Zaragoza is one of the finest examples of Moorish architecture outside of Andalusia, built in the eleventh century when Zaragoza was an independent Islamic kingdom. In the courtyard on a sunny afternoon the light cuts hard across the stucco walls, throwing the carved archways into sharp relief. I wasn't trying to make an abstract image. The shadow just arrived and did that on its own. Shot at the Aljafería Palace, Zaragoza, Spain.
