Playa de las Catedrales is famous for its arches, but these rock formations stopped me just as cold. Massive, layered with millions of years of sediment, and completely unbothered by the photographers scrambling around them at low tide. A tidal pool had formed right at their base and was holding the whole pink sky in it. The Atlantic was already on its way back in, but for that hour the beach belonged to the rocks and the light.
