This view felt like a perfect snapshot of the Outer Banks because so many of its defining elements come together in one frame. Bodie Island Lighthouse rises above the marsh, but I especially loved how much space the landscape and sky were allowed to take up around it. The open wetlands, winding water, and expansive clouds give the lighthouse a sense of place rather than making it the only subject.
